We have narrowed down t-shirt designs and are opening them to our family and friends for purchasing. There are 3 designs available: a tank top*, men's or unisex t-shirt, and a tailored women's v-neck t-shirt. *The tank top is not correctly depicted, it is a standard tank. Prices are as follows:
The more we are able to sell, the more we can raise for our trip. No pressure but, they are pretty cool shirts and we would love to see you represent! Please reach out to your nursing student and place your order by SUNDAY, OCTOBER 7TH. Checks can be made out to NDSU Nursing or send cash with your nursing student and she will get it to our instructors for ordering. As always, we truly appreciate your support and thank you!

Our first group meeting took place on August 30, 2018. Although it came with some challenges on my end trying to connect remotely, we were able to successfully get through and go over some basics. First, journaling our adventures will be a must. The experiences we will have will not want to be forgotten and may even take some reflection and decompression. We will have limited cell phone usage with limited service, so again - journal. We also want to share this experience with our family and friends. Thus, this blog. Check in with us from time to time and see where the semester takes us!
We must visit our local travel clinic to prepare for the trip. We will receive a typhoid vaccination and chloroquine anti-malarian pills. Sounds a little scary, but then again so does malaria. No thanks! Fundraising - we continue to raise funds to provide medical supplies and support to the organization we are working with, Hands Up for Haiti. In addition to our personal fundraising, group events such as a night at the Pizza Ranch, a chili feed at a Bison game, and a marathon in October will be organized. Please reach out to your student and ask how you can help. T-Shirts! I was so excited to put my graphic design skills to good use for this blog and our group shirts. If you are a friend or family member and would like one to commemorate our group, please let your student know. - Rachelle Wirtzfeld |
AuthorWe are 12 North Dakota State University senior registered nursing students on a mission to expand our knowledge, culture and diversity. Our professors, Abigail Vetter and Molly Secor-Turner, will guide us on our final experience of nursing school (short of graduation and boards!) to complete our practicum in Northern Haiti. This is our experience. Archives
